MY DAD WAS A HARD WORKING MAN AND PROVIDED WELL FOR MUM AND ME, HE WAS ONE OF 14 CHILDREN BUT NOT
ALL SURVIVED, HE SERVED IN THE PARA REGIMENT DURING THE WAR WHERE HE WAS SHOT IN THE WRIST.DAD
SUFFERED WITH CANCER FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS BUT NEVER LOST HIS SENSE OF HUMOUR, HE LOVED WORKING IN HIS
GARDEN AND GREENHOUSE AND WOULD HELP ANYONE OUT IF HE WAS ABLE TO. DAD WORKED AT FRENCHES AND THEN
WENT ONTO DEBDEN HOUSE AS A GARDNER AND GREEN KEEPER UNTIL HE RETIRED.WHEN HE GOT THE CANCER HE HAD
TO HAVE PART OF HIS EAR REMOVED BUT THIS NEVER STOPPED HIM FROM GOING OUT HE DIDN,T CARE IF PEOPLE
WAS LOOKING AT HIM,THE CANCER SPREAD TO HIS CHEEK AND HE HAD TO HAVE IT PAINFULLY PACKED BY THE
DISTRICT NURSE BUT HE STILL WENT OUT ,MY DAD WAS A REMARKABLE MAN AND WE BOTH WILL ALWAYS MISS HIM,

I can,t believe it,s been 13 yrs without you dad,it seems like yesterday,my last memory of you round at my house sitting in the garden you couldn,t even eat a sandwich as the food used to get stuck in the hole in your face,you was so brave dad the terrible pain you suffered no one should have to bare,the afternoon you passed over i stayed with you on your bed talking to you for over an hour so you wouldn,t be lonely,the district nurse came to wash you and she was crying so much,she loved coming to you dad as you never complained and always made her laugh but that was the man you was,one of a kind,me and mum miss you so much but know you are in a better place,it would be selfish of us to wish you back the way you was,now you are a free sprit without that terrible pain,i thank you for choosing me as your daughter,for the way you and mum brought me up,that has made me the person i am today,i wish you love and light in heaven dad you will be forever loved and missed,from your loving daughter Linda ♥♥♥♥♥♥
